Job Overview

NEI’s marketing manager is responsible for communicating NEI’s brand, mission, and core values to our team members, customers, and the industry at large.  The marketing manager will have supervision over both internal and external marketing content in a variety of media including digital, print, and physical spaces.

Essential Responsibilities

External Marketing & Sales

  • Proposals
    • Marketing manager assists the Proposal team with creating proposal templates and general proposal content including:
      • General company information
      • Information on engineering capabilities and company strengths
      • Project highlights and scope information
      • Creating and maintaining up to date resumes of key personnel
    • Develops presentations for proposals requiring an interview stage
    • Assists with final proposals as needed by creating newly developed content with feedback from internal engineering resources
    • Manages the development of marketing materials including creating and maintaining product and services capabilities content, project highlights, company newsletters, graphic elements for conferences, sales presentations, etc.
  • Trade Shows & Conferences
    • Work with Business Development to identify strategic conferences and trade shows to attend
    • Coordinates registration, marketing, and promotion of these events
    • Manages the design, staffing, and giveaway materials for trade show booths
    • Assists with NEI’s industry involvement campaign which includes managing and internally promoting technical paper writing opportunities, panel opportunities, seminars, webinars, and other volunteer opportunities
  • Social Media & Website
    • Works with Business Development and Human Resources to develop a digital marketing strategy (including SEO optimization and thought leadership) that aligns with NEI’s strategic goals, mission, and core values
    • Develops and solicits content from project teams and other departments to manage NEI’s brand on LinkedIn, Glassdoor, and other relevant 3rd party sites
    • Supports with researching and drafting new social media posts and creating/maintaining the social media schedule
    • Maintains NEI’s website with up-to-date content and job postings

Internal Marketing

  • Works closely with Human Resources to spread a culture of transparent and core-value-centric communications, including:
    • Hiring – Open positions, referral program, etc.
    • Events – Upcoming company events (both regionally and company-wide)
    • Industry Involvement – Upcoming opportunities to get involved
    • People – New hire introductions & employee spotlights
    • Jobs – Share recently won projects, project successes, and completed projects
  • In collaboration with Human Resources, develops an annual social calendar that is inclusive of all NEI staff (local and distributed); actively schedules, promotes, and coordinates activities with HR
  • Manages NEI’s inventory of branded merchandise. This includes selecting appropriate merchandise for NEI’s staff and clients, tracking inventory levels, and making new orders
  • Works with Human Resources on developing and deploying marketing strategies for various special initiatives that need to be shared with our team members

Skills & Knowledge

  • Must have a strong command of the English language and grammar
  • Must have exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Technical writing and editing experience are preferred
  • Must be well-organized with excellent time management skills
  • Must possess a high degree of accuracy, with strong attention to detail
  • Must be comfortable with, or able to quickly learn, the electrical power system engineering vernacular, and be able to use it effectively in writings
  • Must be highly motivated and a self-starter capable of prioritizing and adapting to varying workloads and work assignments on a constant basis, without missing deadlines

  • Software Skills/Experience
    • Advanced Knowledge and Experience:
      • MS Word
      • Adobe InDesign
      • PowerPoint
    • Working-Level Proficiency:
      • MS Excel and PowerPoint
      • Adobe Photoshop, Acrobat, and Illustrator
      • WordPress
      • CRM (Deltek Vantagepoint or other)

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Marketing or relevant field
  • 5+ years of experience in Marketing or similar role
  • Must be trustworthy when exposed to confidential or sensitive information
  • Must be able to legally work in the United States

Working Conditions

  • Work is performed in an office setting with prolonged periods of sedentary activity
  • Minimal travel may be required (5%-15%)
  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.

Salary Range

$60,000 – $90,000
